Curriculum Overview:
Critical Reading: test skills, building vocabulary reserve, sentence completion, passage-based reading
Writing: test skills; essay writing, identifying sentence errors, improving sentences, improving paragraphs
Math: test skills, MC & student-produces response questions, number & operations, algebra & functions, geometry & measurement, data analysis, statistics, & probability
Academic Skills:
Critical Reading: analyzing authors’ goals & strategies, determining the meaning of words, understanding the content, form, & function of larger sections of text, understanding the content, form & function of sentences
Writing: grammatical structures, order & relationships of sentences & paragraphs, phrases & clauses, word choice
Math: basic & advance knowledge in the areas of algebra & functions, geometry, and data analysis; managing complex & multi-step problems; problem solving skills using insight & modeling
Summer Schedule:
During the summer, we offer a 36-hr test prep program, with 8 different sessions that fall into different dates, day, and time for the students to choose:
Session I: 6/20-7/15; Session II: 7/18-8/12.
